Working and blogging

Published by tclian under Blogging " " No responses yet

It takes time, effort and hard working to build a success blog. But most of our time and energy are dedicated to our job and other daily routines. We hardly have time for our blog and these can be the reasons that cause many blog fails. Pressure from the job can cause people to give up on blogging so that they can focus better on their job. How can we have both thing at the same time - perform well in our job and do not neglect our blog.

I think it depends on your personal management. If you have a good personal management, it should not be a matter for you to include your blog as part of your daily routine. But if you have a poor personal management, well it’s time for you to improve it. There many factors that drive us to own a blog. Before you decide to have your own blog, I think you need to know a few important things:

- What are the knowledge you need to know in blogging
- Where and how to gain exposure for your blog
- Where to find blogger friends
- Where to get great information for your blog
- How often should you update your blog
- How to increase RSS subscriber
- Plan time for reading blogs and comments, replying emails
- Improve the blog design

All of these require time and effort and you should prepare for this. Plan well for your blogging so that you are able to achieve what you want from your blog.

Send your question to many people

Published by tclian under Uncategorized " " One response so far

You just start blogging and face some problem in blogging. What should you do? Most of us will search the internet to get help or visit forum and post our questions or ask help from a blogger friend. I would suggest to send your question to as many people as you can in blogging. We prefer to ask someone we know better or like for help because we believe in them. And you may wonder why i need to waste so much time to ask so many people the same questions? This method can benefit you a lot.

Different people will give different solutions to your problem. If you are provided with more solutions, you can compare and choose the suitable solution to your problem. Sometimes some blogger will provide you more solutions instead of one. Sometimes the solutions provided by your favorite blogger are not working and your problem is not solved. If you can get solutions from different people, the chances for you to solve the problem is very high. I’m sure there must be one solution which will be working among the many solutions from different bloggers.

So next time, when you get some difficulties in blogging, try this method and get more solutions.

Accept criticism in blogging

Published by tclian under Blogging " " No responses yet

Everyone prefer advise rather than criticisms. Me too. This is because we see criticism as something that hurts people where as advise is not that harsh as criticism. Whether is criticism or advise, I’m sure there is something that we can learn from it to become better.

Some criticism in blogging is good. Why criticism is good:

ā— Criticism makes you realize your mistakes. Sometimes you will never know until someone criticizes you.

ā— When someone criticizes your blog. It can help to drive traffic to your blog. Do you still remember one of the reasons why you like American Idol tv show and will watch every episode of it. Many of us watch American Idol because we want to see Simon Cowell. We want to see how he criticizes every American Idol contestant’s performance.

ā— Criticism makes you better. Think deeply on the criticism that you get on your blog from a blogger or a reader, you can use it as a guideline to make your blog better.

Which criticism is good and which is not good?

Some people misuse criticism and they create criticism that destroy your reputation and demotivate you. When you face this problem. You need to make a decision whether to accept that criticism or not. You need to analysis which criticism is a good and which is bad.

For example “You are lousy blogger. You blog is bad.” This kind of criticism is meaningless because the critic does not point out why your blog is bad and which area in your blog need to be improved. And you should ignore it. If a critic is able to give his/her suggestion and help on improving your blog then why don’t you consider the suggestions. You can communicate with the critic to find out more details.

Don’t hate the critics but thank you them for pointing out your mistakes. Read their criticism carefully because they can help you a lot

Should I put my photo in my blog?

Published by tclian under Blogging " " 2 responses so far

Should I put my photo in my blog? I think most bloggers will think of this question when they start a blog. Maybe is time to change this question a little bit. Is it important to include my photo in my blog? Some bloggers saying that putting a photo in the blog can increase blog incredibility. Photo has small role in blog credibility. There are still many important things you need to do to make your blog credible.

It take times to build a blog credibility. Readers trust a blog based on a few things, example:

The information you give to them
Do your posts reliable or you just make up a story so you have something for your readers to read or maybe you just want to increase traffic.

How you present the information to them
Do your readers understand what you are trying to tell them? Are your content well organized and comfortable for your readers to read?

Do you communicate with them
Do you give the readers feedback? Do you visit your readers blog and leave comment in their blog? Do you consider to use their suggesttions to improve your blog?

These are just three things needed in blog credibility, there are other things which you need to consider as well in the blog credibility. Many great bloggers did not include a photo in their blog but still has many RSS subscribers. I think photo does not have that much influence in blog credibility. In fact, I am more interested in the background of the author of the blog, where the author comes from, how the blogger hometown look like, what kind of cultures the blogger has in his/her country. I think these can make your blog more unique. I sure your readers will be interested in who you really are than just a photo of you?

This is a debate question. Different people will have different answers for this question. If you would like to know am I going to put my photo in my blog. At this moment, I think I’m not going to put my photo until I am ready. If you are comfortable with your photo to be viewed by all around the world, then go ahead to put your photo in your blog.
